Volunteers are an essential part of Senior Resources of Guilford's response to meeting the critical needs of our community's older adults. The agency welcomes volunteers of all ages, including youth groups, scouts and college students. Individual volunteers, as well as groups from the faith community, businesses and civic organizations, make it possible for us to provide essential services to older adults.
We have volunteer opportunities that you can assist with from your home, as well as projects based in our offices and activity centers.
Current Volunteer Opportunities:
Meals on Wheels- Volunteers are needed to assist with meal deliveries Monday through Friday. Routes can take 1-2 hours to deliver. Volunteers also provide wellness checks on clients when delivering the meals to ensure each participant's safety and well-being.
Senior Wheels- Volunteers provide transportation to and from routine, non-emergency medical appointments. Volunteers utilize their personal vehicles and must have a valid drivers license and proof of insurance.
Evergreens Lifestyle Center- Volunteers are needed to help teach classes and provide activities for participants. Additional tasks include greeting visitors when they arrive at the center and assisting with class or activity set up.
Handy Helper- Assist with minor home repairs such as changing light bulbs, small painting projects, and more.
TeleCare Reassurance- Provides regular phone calls to older adults to provide socialization. Volunteers are matched with clients and provide calls throughout the week.
Clerical/Office Assistance- Assist with in-office projects such as filing, making copies, and preparing items for bulk mailing.
