Part Time Meals on Wheels Driver - High Point

 

Gibsonville Community Nutrition Site Manager

JOB OBJECTIVE:  Good management of Congregate Nutrition Site that meets the needs of the older adults in accordance with Title III guidelines. Responsible for the supervision of all functions related to food, program activities, and transportation when applicable.

SCHEDULE: 

  • Part time, 8:30am-12:30pm Monday-Friday
  • Monthly site manager meeting with Nutrition Program Director on the last Friday of the month, from 2-3pm
  • Additional trainings to be announced as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure that Federal and State guidelines are followed.
  2. Submit collections of program income to the Finance Department weekly. Ensure that the form is correctly completed and that a funds are counted daily by a volunteer and site manager in each other’s presence.
  3. Submit required weekly and monthly reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  4. Oversee the proper use and care of fire extinguishers, follow health regulations regarding fire drills and safety inspections, and sanitation inspection reports. Provide the Nutrition Services Director with all inspection reports upon completion.
  5. Strive to recruit program participants and increase enrollment at site.
  6. Attend monthly site Manager Meetings and other meeting as required scheduled by the Nutrition Services Director.
  7. Recruit, train, an supervise volunteers and Senior Aides who can assist with meal service and act as a substitute in the site manager’s absence.
  8. Ensure that all required documents are posted at the site. Menus, calendar of events, sign in sheets, Evacuation plan, emergency phone numbers, and cost sharing information.
  9. Ensure that volunteers follow correct procedures for food handling, food temperatures and serving utensils. (Handwashing, plastic gloves, food portions, food temperatures).
  10. Responsible for checking food on arrival to be sue it matches the menu and responsible for checking food temperatures in compliance with Federal regulations.
  11. Maintain a positive relationship with Food Vendor personnel for purposes of troubleshooting.
  12. Responsible for notifying the Nutrition Services Director when there are changes in transportation needs and/or transportation difficulties.
  13. Ensure that the Nutrition Services Director is notified of all problems and concerns at the meal site including emergencies, meal discrepancies, and client incidences.
  14. Responsible for assessing program needs and interests, and to plan, implement, and evaluate program activities.
  15. Responsible for checking mailbox at and distributing flyers to participants in a timely manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with staff, service providers, and senior adults
  • Ability to carry and lift pans of food
  • Ability to organize and supervise volunteers
  • Ability to drive agency van for offsite trips if needed
  • Ability to adapt oneself and participants to changing conditions, to solve problems with a positive attitude
  • Knowledge of community resources and of food service and sanitation procedures

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Education
  • Experience with older adults
  • Experience with food service preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $10.00 per hour

Part-Time Meals on Wheels Driver - High Point

We are seeking a part-time driver to assist with Meals on Wheels delivery in High Point, NC.  Applicant must have a valid North Carolina driver's licence, clean driving record and willing to submit to a background check.  No CDL required.  Must be willing to work a flexible schedule with some weekend availability.
