Caregiver Information
Caring for a loved one can be a rewarding experience, but it can also be exhausting physically, emotionally, mentally and financially. In conjunction with the North Carolina Family Caregiver program, Senior Resources of Guilford also assists caregivers with the responsibilities of informal caregiving by:

helping them learn about and access available support services
providing caregiver case assistance
informing caregivers about support groups, counseling services and legal assistance
referring them to respite care services which can provide a break in caregiving responsibilities
advising them of materials available through the Resource Libraries maintained by Senior Resources of Guilford in the Greensboro and High Point offices

The Caregiver Information program assists caregivers who are age 60 and over or those who are caring for someone age 60 and over. This includes adult children assisting a parent, a wife or husband caring for the spouse, a parent over age 60 caring for an adult child with special needs, a niece or nephew caring for an older aunt or uncle and a friend who is assisting an elderly neighbor.

Meet CATHI (Caregivers’ Answers, Topics, and Helpful Information)
In an endeavor to continually assist caregivers in the search for pertinent information regarding eldercare, Senior Resources of Guilford’s Information and Referral Specialists address topics of most frequently asked questions via Caregivers’ Answers, Topics, and Helpful Information (CATHI). Additionally, caregivers are also offered an opportunity to e-mail individual questions and an Information and Referral Specialist will reply. Have a question for CATHI? Email us at caregiver@senior-resources-guilford.org. Click here for the current CATHI question and answer...

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: Support groups and educational programs are available for grandparents age 60 and over who are the primary support for their grandchildren.
