The Community Nutrition Program provides opportunities for older adults age 60 and over to enjoy a nutritious noontime meal and participate in field trips, health and wellness activities and educational and cultural programs. The nine Community Nutrition Activity Centers located throughout Guilford County are listed below and are open from 9 am to 1 pm, Monday through Friday. Transportation is available.
Older adults in High Point also have the option of participating in Senior Resources of Guilford's restaurant voucher program. Offered in partnership with the Pepper Mill Café (located at 2600 S. Main Street, High Point, NC), the restaurant voucher program introduces increased choice and flexibility to the Community Nutrition Program by providing 12 vouchers each month for older adults to enjoy a meal in a family-friendly restaurant setting. Participants must be age 60 or older, have their own transportation and agree to participate in health and wellness workshops held at the restaurant twice quarterly.
